Teen dies after being hit by truck – Bankstown

A teenager has died in hospital after being hit by a truck at Bankstown.

The 16-year-old boy was struck while crossing at the intersection of Chapel Road South and Edwards Street just before 5pm (Friday 31 August 2018).

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he died a short time later.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command and the Crash Investigation Unit established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the incident.

The truck driver, a man believed to be aged in his 40s, wasn’t injured but has been taken to Bankstown Hospital for mandatory testing.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
